We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Sanctions Operations Transformation to join our GLOBAL SANCTIONS OPERATIONS team. This role is located in MANCHESTER – HYBRID.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Enable best in class execution of disposition of potential matches in a timely and accurate manner through automation including use of AI.
- Seek opportunities to improve efficiency, client experience, operational resilience and hence managing compliance risk appropriately.
- Own and manage the execution of sanctions efficiency projects in an agile manner.
- Ensure screening of payments/all types of SWIFT messages/static data are in accordance with policies, procedures, and in compliance with laws and regulations.
- Publish periodic KPI, tracking reasons for deviation from agreed levels and proactively working on continuous improvements.
- Lead/build a global team that prides on owning & managing operations - drive pristine controls.
- Review environment against staffing levers to ensure the appropriate capacity is available.
- Recruit, motivate and develop staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively as a team.
- Interface with multiple functional areas (Internal Audit/Compliance/Quality Assurance/Engineering), regional & global stakeholders, external clients to enable collaboration & progress.
- Own and deliver assigned projects/deliverables with due diligence including technology changes impacting delivery.
- Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation, safeguarding its clients and assets, compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- 15+ years of relevant working experience (preferably in related roles) with people management and leadership experience.
- Subject Matter Expertise in Sanctions Screening domain and associated regulations.
- Understanding of financial message formats and data quality to be able to recommend the ideal solutions.
- Proven ability to manage impactful projects to improve sanctions screening.
- Understanding of sanctions screening filters, lists and rules would be an added advantage.
- Exhibit effective communication with key stakeholders by exercising good judgment.
- Willing to pursue applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business.
- Proven ability to build strong business relationships with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Analytical ability, data-led decision making skills.
