Our client is a market-leading infrastructure and asset management business who plays a key role in the management and upgrade of our nation's critical infrastructure. A core part of their business is encouraging industry innovation and change through collaboration with key clients around the country. One of their most high-profile schemes is now seeking to appoint a Project Manager to drive these innovation initiatives.

Role Overview: Our client is seeking an innovation-focused Project Manager to lead, develop, and support innovation projects and programmes aligned with our clients' business strategy. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to integrate cutting-edge solutions into our Highways services business. This role within the Highways Transformation and Innovation Team offers a unique opportunity to influence strategic thinking and shape responses to challenges such as decarbonisation, automation, and operational transformation.

Key Responsibilities of this role:

  • Lead strategic innovation projects and manage future innovation initiatives.
  • Capture benefits and support scaling solutions to meet the needs of current and future clients.
  • Review emerging technologies to address operational challenges and advance business priorities.
  • Implement our clients' Innovation and Continuous Improvement Methodologies.
  • Identify priority areas through workshops and activities, collaborating closely with the Key Account Management Team and Delivering Excellence Groups.
  • Conduct market scanning, engage in partnership development, and create strategic roadmaps with stakeholders such as National Highways and Local Authorities to deploy innovative solutions.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Proven project management experience, preferably within Highways or Transport Infrastructure.
  • Passion for innovation and decarbonisation.
  • Strong critical thinking and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills along with experience of driving organisational change.
  • Experience in innovation and an understanding of carbon and sustainability are advantageous but not essential.

We provide comprehensive development to ensure you hit the ground running. This role offers an ambitious Project Manager the opportunity to deploy their expertise on an exciting and critical project. This role will be an initial fixed-term contract for 1 year, but there will be potential to expand the role. Hybrid and remote working options will be considered but regular visits to client locations (around Glasgow) will be essential.
