Do you want to work with the world's most iconic sports racing brand? Are you a senior commercial lawyer with at least 7 years PQE and keen to take ownership of commercial matters in the racing promotions and events space? If so, this role could be exactly what you are looking for!

The client is a world-class racing company with a robust and diverse legal team seeking senior legal support in their commercial team. You will work in the racing promotions team which comprises 4 lawyers: 2 Senior Counsel, 1 junior counsel, and a paralegal. You will take ownership of commercial legal matters and work with their circuit partners to ensure the smooth running of their racing events.

The work includes:

  • Commercial matters associated with the hosting and running of their races and events
  • Intellectual Property Matters
  • IT/Technology contracts
  • Partnership and sponsorship agreements
  • Commercial agreements around ticket sales for major sporting events
  • Advertising, marketing and promotion legal matters
  • Supporting on commercial legal projects associated with new and upcoming international racing events
  • Working with 12 of their partner circuits to ensure smooth running of their events
  • Ensuring partners are upheld to the obligations associated with racing events, including legal and commercial obligations associated with safety, infrastructure of racing circuits, commercialisation of fan zones and fan areas, insurance requirements, promotions and ticket sales.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 7 years PQE and above is required for this level of role. If you come from a sports and events legal background, then less PQE may be considered.
  • Ability to work autonomously and with confidence across broad commercial legal areas
  • Experience in the sporting industry, sporting body or events would be highly desirable
  • Robust experience in commercial legal matters, advertising and marketing, Partnership & Sponsorship agreements, Intellectual Property.

Office working: 3 days a week required in their central London office – this is non-negotiable.

Salary: Highly dependent on PQE level and industry knowledge of the sporting and events sector. Salary banding advertised is a guide only.

Start date: ASAP – 1 month notice period will be considered but 3 month notices will be tricky.
