We are seeking a Group Accountant to join our finance team based in our London office, supporting the Group Finance Manager by being an integral player in managing financial processes and ensuring overall accuracy.

Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Supporting the month-end close process, including necessary journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
- Handling all purchase ledger activities, including requesting supplier set-up, entering invoices into the Sage accounting system, and processing payments.
- Performing regular bank reconciliations to ensure that all bank transactions are correctly reflected in the company’s financial records.
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring supporting evidence is uploaded onto Blackline for review and approval.
- Managing the sales ledger, primarily focused on recharging intergroup entities, ensuring all intercompany transactions are accurately recorded.
- Preparing various weekly and monthly reports to monitor spend against budgets, support financial planning, and aid decision-making.
- Submitting quarterly VAT returns, ensuring all calculations are accurate and in compliance with applicable tax regulations.
- Assisting the Group Finance Manager with various consolidation-related tasks during the month-end close process.
To be successful in this role, you must show a commitment to maintaining a strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards. It is essential you:
- Hold an ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent part-qualified finance professional qualification.
- Have previous experience in corporate accounting including AR, AP, accruals, prepayments, and month-end reporting.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Pay close attention to detail in order to produce accurate, error-free records and handle large volumes of data and transactions accurately.
- Manage competing priorities and tight deadlines effectively.
- Are adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of a dynamic environment.
Although not essential, experience with accounting software such as Sage and Blackline and familiarity with VAT returns and audit preparation would be advantageous.
