About the role
Our team shape projects that connect communities and impact daily life for millions. Join our Regional Scotland team as a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager on the Energy ASTI On/Off shore project and build new futures!
This role will require travel between Aberdeen, Motherwell and Inverness.
What you’ll be doing
- Manage day to day Health and Safety resources to support Operations implement the Health and Safety Policy and standards across all BUs in their area of responsibility.
- Manage the resource allocation and deployment of competent HS&W delivery resource across their area of responsibility, ensuring resource utilisation data is collected and made available to implement a risk-based support schedule.
- Support work winning and bid support for the operational teams, where required.
- Support the ASTI Pathway 2030 HS&W Working Groups.
- Manage the programme of inspection and audit to provide assurance that all BUs continue to comply with company requirements.
- Fulfil HS&W, Customer and Balfour Beatty incident reporting and performance requirements (7 Day Report, KPIs,) and act as incident lead if required.
- In collaboration with Project Director/Head of Operations Directors, carry out project and business sector HS&E performance reviews using lagging and leading indicators.
- Support the Operations/Project Director with contract/project level SHELTs to drive and deliver HS&W improvement plans.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of developments in Health and Safety.
- Lead, develop and coach individuals to build high performing teams and create a pipeline of talent, sharing learnings and contributing to continuous improvement.
- Develop professional relationships with customers and specifically their HS&W professionals.
Who we’re looking for
The following qualities/experience are essential:
- Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have detailed, technical knowledge and experience health and safety legislation, regulations and guidance.
- Construction industry experience (or experience in an equivalent sector) and in particular CDM (where work within a specific construction sector experience is advantageous then specify).
- Must have prior experience of providing leadership and support to operational and functional teams.
