We are working with a London Borough who are looking to appoint a Principle Planning Officer as follows:

  • Minimum of degree qualified, ideally with a planning related professional qualification
  • Hybrid working (home, office and site based)
  • Focused on the negotiation, assessment and determination of major and complex planning applications delivering significant levels of investment within the Borough
  • Supervision of Case Officers on specific, complex proposals
  • The processing and representation of the Council's case in respect of planning appeals
  • Providing specialist, professional planning advice in response to enquiries
  • The monitoring and improvement of performance in the handling of planning and related applications handled by the planning team
  • Deputise for the Area Team Leader
  • Determination of appropriate planning applications under the Council's Scheme of Delegation
  • Assistance in developing Planning Performance Agreements and providing pre-application advice on complex cases
  • Line management of Technical Support Officers within the team

This Principle Planning Officer vacancy is offered on a 1 year contract initially (inside IR35) on a day rate of £175 per day to start with the high likelihood of a rolling extension thereafter.
