Are you an experienced Commercial Lawyer looking for a role with plenty of responsibility and autonomy? Perhaps you are an in-house solicitor who has been considering a move to or back to private practice? This is an opportunity with a leading regional law firm to take the lead on Commercial matters. There is an existing client base and lots of internal referrals from other departments.

The firm is looking for an experienced generalist Commercial Lawyer who can take the reins and help develop the department. There is no need for a client following - the work is there - so this could suit an experienced in-house lawyer looking to transition into a private practice role. The work is generally for SMEs and OMBs and would cover the full range of Commercial queries and projects - from small contracts through to larger scale work. The firm has an excellent Corporate department, so there is a lot of work stemming from that team including due diligence on M&A deals.

The firm is looking to grow the department, so there will be the opportunity to recruit and grow the team. There are Partnership prospects available in the mid to long term for a Solicitor who can come in and really push the department forward. There is an excellent culture within the firm and they work in a hybrid manner.

This is likely to suit an experienced in-house or private practice Commercial Solicitor. You will need to have a varied Commercial background and be able to pick up all things Commercial within the firm. The firm is open on the level of experience but it's likely that you will need at least 5y PQE. Our client will consider Solicitors at all levels.
