Let’s make the most of your talent. We are looking to recruit a Portfolio Management Lead within our Pricing & Underwriting Chapter. You’ll play a pivotal role, leading portfolio management of our direct motor products from a risk cost perspective.

This is where your expertise comes into play, joining our Motor Manufacturing Tribe who are responsible for setting the risk cost for motor policies. You’ll utilise your previous experience leading a UK motor portfolio to make sure we do just that. You will be leading on portfolio management of motor products from a risk cost perspective which includes:
- Responsible for monitoring our competitiveness and claims performance by customer segment to manage risk of selection and find growth opportunities.
- Monitoring market and claims trends to ensure risks and opportunities are reflected in pricing and underwriting action.
- Setting and tracking overall financial performance from a risk cost perspective, including tracking of initiatives.
- Setting the strategy for motor application fraud controls for pricing & underwriting, and responsibility for ensuring effectiveness.
- Responsible for Application Fraud and proposing Pricing & Underwriting changes to reflect evidence of emerging opportunities.
- Lead, motivate and inspire both your direct reports and those within the wider P&U function through your breadth of knowledge and expertise.
What we are looking for: We are keen to meet enthusiastic, passionate and curious individuals, and are open to hear from those with specialisms of either pricing or underwriting, key is your breadth of experience and understanding across both areas.
- Experience of financial planning of a motor portfolio within UK personal lines space.
- Previously managed a motor portfolio with demonstrable experience of making pricing and underwriting adjustments.
- Experience of underwriting, either through direct responsibility or alongside colleagues as part of portfolio management.
- Knowledge and understanding of technical pricing with the ability to interpret predictive models for pricing and forecasting.
- Ability to inspire and engage colleagues to do their best work every day, with a strong external network to bring in best practice and new concepts to DLG.
