Finatal is working with a PE backed SaaS business seeking an experienced Director of Financial Operations and Control to report to the CFO and take responsibility for the operational running of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a global procurement strategy that aligns with business objectives, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and risk mitigation.
  • Oversee the complete lifecycle of procurement projects, including planning, budgeting, negotiation, invoicing, and reporting.
  • Build and nurture strong partnerships with key suppliers, contractors, and service providers within the SaaS and tech industry.
  • Lead vendor selection and negotiate contracts to deliver cost-effective, high-quality solutions.
  • Partner closely with Finance, Legal, IT, and Development teams to optimize purchasing decisions and manage budgets effectively.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising on quality or service levels, implementing tools for real-time spend analytics.
  • Collaborate with the FP&A team to ensure accurate financial forecasting and budgeting for procurement-related expenditure.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with regulatory standards, corporate policies, and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Implement robust supplier risk assessments and contingency plans to mitigate supply chain vulnerabilities.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance using key KPIs, driving continuous service improvement and innovation.

Qualifications

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, or equivalent.
  • Proven extensive post-qualified experience in financial leadership roles.
  • Strong strategic thinking and negotiation skills with a track record of cost optimization and value delivery.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and influence decisions.
  • Familiarity with procurement automation tools and financial analytics platforms.
  • Understanding of risk management practices, compliance standards, and financial reporting.
