Job Description
About The Role
- Provide professional and industry leading Sport Science support for Foundation, Youth Development and Professional Development Phase Academy players.
- In conjunction with the coaching staff and all members of the Sports Science & Medicine team, organise weekly and long-term training programmes.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of pitch and gym-based training content.
- Assist with the data collection and management of sport science testing and maturation data ensuring these reports are used to guide individual and team programming on and off field.
- Ensure Sports Science provision including session plans, gym session and testing are uploaded onto IP.
- Liaise with Head of Academy Sports Medicine & Science, Academy Physiotherapists and part-time sports scientists regarding individual sports science programmes.
- Ensure player wellbeing is monitored and reported to the relevant staff.
- Assist other members of the department where deemed necessary by the Head of Academy medicine and Sport Science.
- Maintain Current CRB Certificate.
- Maintain up-to-date Child Safety certificate.
- Ensure own CPD is up to date.
- Attend Academy Management meetings as and when required and report on progress and/or concerns.

- Understanding of other departments in an elite environment and how they integrate with Sports Science;
- Understand key policies and procedures when responsible for the management of both a department and the people within it;
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding reporting and welfare support.
