To strengthen our team and culture, we are looking for a skilled Sr. Event Operations Lead to manage and execute in-person gatherings that bring our remote teams together. As the Sr. Event Operations Lead, you will be responsible for organizing internal events that drive connection, learning, and engagement for our distributed workforce, and will support external employer branding events to attract top-tier talent to Viator. From team offsites to global meetups in key hubs, you will manage everything from event logistics to session programming to budgets. You will ensure that every in-person gathering maximises our time together and aligns with our company culture, business goals, and people-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event planning & management: Plan, execute and manage remote team meetups, offsites, and hub gatherings globally. Handle logistics such as venue booking, travel arrangements, accommodations (when needed), and catering. Oversee, or partner with our OfficeX team to support on-site execution and ensure a seamless attendee experience.
  • Programming & engagement: Partner with leadership, People Operations, and department heads to align events with business priorities and objectives for each event. Coordinate programming for events, including workshops, training sessions, company presentations, and social activities. Foster team-building and employee engagement through creative activities and experiences. Identify and facilitate coordination for events that will assist us in attracting talent in key markets.
  • Communication & coordination: Manage event communication, from invitations and RSVPs to post-event feedback. Create detailed schedules and secure resources to ensure attendees are well-prepared, and the event is set up for success. Serve as the primary point of contact for participants and stakeholders.
  • Budget & vendor management: Develop, track, and drive accountability in event budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and ROI. Source and manage relationships with venues, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Continuous improvement: Gather feedback from attendees and stakeholders to improve future events. Stay informed about best practices and tools for remote team operations and events.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in event management, operations, or a related field (experience in remote-first organizations is a plus).
  • Ability to lead large, cross-functional programs with various stakeholders with minimal oversight.
  • Exceptional organisational and project management skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating across teams and cultures.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, negotiate contracts, and work with vendors.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Willingness to travel as needed (15-25% travel expected).
