Site based - Marley - Glasgow G64 2PY
£26,019 per annum plus overtime available
39 hrs per week (6:30am - 2:30pm Monday to Thursday and 6:30am - 2pm Friday)

The role…
Working from our busy collection centre and reporting directly to the Yard Supervisor, this position will have responsibility for receiving/checking inbound goods from other sites & suppliers, order picking & packing ready for dispatch which will involve some manual handling. This role will predominantly be 60% Manual Handling/ FLT Work and 40% Computer based work (SAP & Email). Flexibility is essential, you must be prepared to work across all loading activities. As part of a small and busy yard team, you’ll take on a variety of responsibilities, including administrative tasks, answering phone calls, processing and preparing orders, responding to customer inquiries, as well as picking, loading, and unloading products.
Responsibilities
- Daily use of a Fork-lift truck to assist with the loading and unloading of incoming vehicles
- Utilise the SAP software and other company network systems including email
- Making up of fittings loads and packing to a high standard for despatch for customer collections
- Stock management, the rotation of stock, relocation and stock checks when needed
- Checking of loaded vehicles to ensure goods match the loading note tickets
- Unloading and sorting of returned empty wooden pallets
- Day to day general housekeeping
This position will involve interacting with some of our valued customers so requires a polite, pleasant & helpful manner; be enthusiastic and be able to work on their own as well as part of the team. Willing to do overtime when needed to ensure operational demands are achieved and to cover for holidays. Adherence to Health and Safety practice.
Skills and Experience Required
- Demonstrate previous experience in a similar role
- It’s essential that the candidate will hold a valid RTITB Accredited Counterbalance licence and be able to operate essential handling equipment.
- Ability to use own initiative and take ownership of tasks
- Ideally have previous experience in stock management, use of SAP and reporting.
- Have a strong safety awareness with a proven track record of maintaining high safety standards for self and others in the workplace.
