Our client is a leading construction company. With a strong pipeline of projects across various sectors, including residential, commercial, and conservation, they are looking for an experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
Role Overview: As an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. You will ensure cost control, value engineering, and financial performance while maintaining high-quality standards. You will play a key role in procurement, contract management, and risk assessment, working closely with project managers, estimators, and supply chain teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting for construction projects.
- Prepare and manage cost estimates, tender documents, and contract negotiations.
- Monitor and control project costs to ensure value for money and profitability.
- Assess and manage risks related to cost and contracts.
- Review and manage subcontractor and supplier agreements, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
- Conduct financial reporting, cash flow analysis, and cost reconciliation.
- Provide cost advice and value engineering recommendations to optimize project efficiency.
- Collaborate with project managers, design teams, and procurement to ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
Skills & Experience Required:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
- Proven experience in cost management, tendering, and contract administration.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
