Corin is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to ensure that the quality of the products or services provided by the supplier is consistent with the agreed-upon requirements. This includes establishing quality standards for raw materials, conducting supplier audits, and monitoring supplier performance to ensure compliance. This is a site-based role in Cirencester, Gloucestershire (easily commutable from Swindon, Cheltenham, Stroud) as you will be working cross-functionally across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Engineering.
The key responsibilities of the Supplier Quality Engineer are to:
- Work in a team environment with suppliers to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste in order to provide continuous improvements to meet customer requirements.
- Collect root cause analysis and provide corrective feedback to minimize potential disruption to production due to supply issues.
- Maintain & progress supplier non-conformances/records via Electronic Quality Management System.
- Manage customer-specific requirements and offer technical support to suppliers.
- Ensure that the products produced meet quality standards required, minimizing quality costs and maximizing customer satisfaction while ensuring that procedures and processes are adhered to.
- Introduce initiatives based on general supplier development/improvement.
- Maintain the robustness of product following new product introductions to ensure continuity and improvement in supplier capability.
- Work on multiple phases or sub-tasks of projects or entire projects of high complexity, with results impacting project completion.
- Work with suppliers to ensure supplied parts and materials meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Conduct regular Quality Review Meetings with key suppliers and provide reports to Senior Management when required.
- Develop, document, and maintain a supplier rating system and report to both suppliers and Senior Management.
- Conduct Supplier reviews/audits to ensure the supplier processes meet our requirements.
- Adhere to Quality Management System (QMS) requirements in line with Corin’s ISO13485 QMS & Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) FDA21 CFR Part 820.
- Ensure that process & timeline requirements for Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA) are met in accordance with Corin’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and in support of Corin’s Global Objectives for CAPA.
The ideal Supplier Quality Engineer will have:
- Experience in Supplier Quality Engineering within a Mechanical Engineering environment, preferably in the Medical Device sector.
- The ability to read engineering drawings.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Experience of supplier quality development.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Driving Licence.
