Mastercard Prepaid Management Services (MPMS) provide end-to-end prepaid card solutions for clients and partners. We have an expanding and evolving technical platform that supports our global portfolio of prepaid card programs. Delivering innovative prepaid payments is a technology business, and we provide entire solutions for travel & transit, foreign exchange, gift and buy-now-pay-later. We consider ourselves to be Fintech enablers. In the dynamic and evolving ecosystem of payments, this role is responsible for owning and managing the compliance and risk programs for Mastercard Prepaid Management Services (MPMS). This role is also responsible for leading and managing fraud, compliance and risk across MPMS. Candidate should demonstrate an ability to be a partner across multiple markets and demonstrate a solid payments business orientation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance and Fraud Oversight: Provides strategic direction in the development of a compliance and fraud strategy that mitigates risk to Mastercard's business operations.
- Manages implementation of compliance and fraud programs for Mastercard Prepaid Management Services (MPMS), often partnering with internal stakeholders (e.g., business leaders, legal counsel, etc.) in execution.
- Oversees investigations of fraud and works with stakeholders to reach a resolution.
- Responsible to develop and drive an appropriate risk framework for MPMS.
- Manage ad-hoc risk management activities within MPMS and serves as Risk Champion for MPMS.
- Acts as Compliance Liaison for MPMS, leading the development of communications and training for areas in compliance, including explaining implications, proposing actions, and recommending initiatives to minimize risks to Mastercard.
- Leads the implementation of regulatory compliance and conduct risk frameworks and policies designed to detect any risk of MPMS not complying with its obligations under the regulatory system.
- Accountable for increasing process efficiency and improvements using automation and simplification technology.
- Oversee issue management and crisis response as it pertains to compliance, fraud and/or risk matters.
- Keeps abreast of new legal and regulatory developments and best practices, including providing technical advice to stakeholders.
- Supervises a global team, conducts goal-setting and performance appraisal, coaches and develops employees as an organizational resource.
- Coaches and mentors team members and expands overall compliance, fraud and risk knowledge.
- Fosters a culture of compliance and risk awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
- Works with the team to prepare and present regular compliance, fraud and risk reports to senior management, highlighting areas of improvement and ongoing successes.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, legal counsel, and external partners to address compliance, fraud and risk related challenges and inquiries.
- The Compliance team will be responsible for the relationship with the Issuers.
- Be the face and voice of the Compliance development team for internal stakeholders, clients and Issuers.

- The ideal candidate for this position should have experience in managing payment compliance at a program manager, e-money license holder or similar regulated entity, bank or financial institution.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of compliance.
- Understand regulatory framework of financial services.
- Be familiar with the payments industry and prepaid cards business.
