THE ROLE
As Senior Delivery Manager in our existing Operations Team, you will manage the IT Roadmap, which can consist of Infrastructure, Azure or SaaS transformation, and projects on leading commercial platforms. This will include managing and helping to evolve the technology roadmap to support the company in achieving its IT objectives, as well as managing the delivery of projects in line with best practice project management disciplines and the company's Change Framework to ensure all projects are delivered on time, to budget and within quality expectations.
Engagement with Third Party providers and technical teams is also a key requirement of this role, to ensure their services are delivered within quality and time constraints while maintaining strong relationships. You will validate and review vendor and partner proposals to ensure alignment with business requirements, as well as facilitate technical and non-technical meetings in line with the agreed governance structures to ensure progress remains on track.
You will produce project control documents and progress reports for stakeholders, pitched at the appropriate level for the audience and highlighting any risks or issues as appropriate. Work with internal and external stakeholders to effectively manage scope, issues, and risks that impact timelines, quality, or budget.
The role will also involve managing the budgets for IT projects, ensuring costs are in line with expectations, as well as managing delivery backlogs, prioritizing outstanding activities, with responsibility for developing, documenting, publishing, and maintaining IT project management standards, plans, and procedures (including governance).
With experience and a proven track record of delivering successful IT Infrastructure or Azure Cloud projects in similar roles, you will have excellent knowledge of project and Agile methodologies, as well as experience managing and collaborating with Third Party vendors. Previous knowledge of best practices for project management or formal project management certification (PRINCE2, Agile), along with experience managing conflicting task priorities through the application of scoring mechanisms, is essential. An appreciation of both Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies, and the ability to apply them appropriately, is also required.
