We appreciate that everyone has diverse career aspirations, and that sets us apart. One of the ways we are responding to the dynamic nature of the legal sector is with our In-House Lawyers, GCSolutions panel. We have identified secondment opportunities across a range of exceptional clients and sectors. Our GCSolutions team is currently working on these opportunities for both short and long-term secondments, as well as project-led initiatives. This initiative has been highly successful, and we are now looking to expand this team with commercial lawyers seeking an exciting, alternative career path.
Unlike some flexible lawyer resourcing models, we offer you the choice to work with us on a fixed-term employment basis or as a consultant. We provide a mix of remote and hybrid opportunities, are open to part-time or full-time arrangements, and support your work-life balance. Importantly, there are no fee targets or billable hour pressures. You will be an advocate for WBD and contribute to our growth opportunities.
Working with us on a fixed-term employment basis offers security through employed contracts and a salary, with full access to our rewards, benefits, development programs, and support from our commercial team. If you prefer a consultancy or contractor basis, you will be paid a competitive day rate under a non-exclusive agreement, with the flexibility to choose high-quality secondments that interest you.
What are we looking for?
We are particularly interested in lawyers with expertise in banking, insurance, general finance, energy, infrastructure, construction, company secretarial, and public sector experience. You should have exposure to quality commercial work, providing valuable advice and sector insight. You may currently work in an in-house legal team or at a large, regional, or city firm with secondment experience. A thorough understanding of risk management and financial reporting obligations is essential, as you will advise the business directly, reporting to GCs and senior management. Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships is key to our success.
What makes it great to work here?
We strive to create an open, human-centric culture that sets us apart. As signatories of the Mindful Business Charter, we prioritize the health and wellbeing of our people through various resources and initiatives, including flexible working arrangements. Our DEI initiatives foster an environment where diversity is valued. We have a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Group led by our Board Sponsor, working with various colleague networks supporting race, ethnicity, cultural heritage, LGBTQ+, disabilities, families, and women's career development. We are committed to expanding these networks to better support everyone.
We welcome applicants from all social backgrounds, ethnicities, disabilities, gender identities, and sexual orientations. We are dedicated to an inclusive and accessible recruitment process. If you have a disability or long-term condition and require adjustments, please contact the recruiter. As an in-house recruitment team, we aim to fill roles directly.
