My client is recruiting for a Manual/CNC Machinist who will machine compressor components for small batch work as per the drawings provided. For this role you will need to have experience of working in a manufacturing or engineering environment. A Certificate in machine shop technology/machine tool technology or a time served apprenticeship would be an advantage. Experience of manual machining and of reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings is essential. Experience of working with CNC machines and computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software would also be an advantage. The main responsibilities of the role are: * Making components using the manual mills, lathe, saw and radial drill. * Self-inspect components to drawing and report any manufacturing errors to line manager so corrective action can be agreed. * Ensure that production requirements are met in line with the production schedule. * Continually assess tool condition and maintain as necessary. * Provide input/feedback to decrease run times and down time to ensure continuous improvement. * Undertake training on CNC machines * Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures * Maintain a clean and safe working environment…
