The Investment Associate will play a critical role in supporting the structuring and execution of complex asset-backed credit transactions, with a focus on legal analysis, credit risk assessment, and portfolio management. The role requires strong quantitative, analytical, and legal skills, as well as the ability to work on bespoke financing structures and negotiate transaction documentation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the structuring of asset-backed private credit transactions, ensuring alignment with risk and return objectives.
- Work closely with legal counsel to review and negotiate loan agreements, security documents, intercreditor agreements, and other transaction documentation.
- Analyze collateral structures, borrower creditworthiness, and cash flow dynamics to optimize deal terms.
- Ensure that legal and financial structures align with investor requirements and regulatory considerations.
- Assist in developing transaction frameworks, including bespoke lending structures and credit enhancements.
- Build detailed financial models to assess debt structures, collateral performance, and downside risk.
- Perform cash flow analysis, stress testing, and sensitivity analysis to evaluate investment risk.
- Conduct credit underwriting, assessing borrower financials, repayment capacity, and industry risks.
- Prepare detailed investment memoranda and presentations for internal discussions and Investment Committee review.
- Lead legal due diligence efforts, ensuring thorough review of transaction documents and legal risks.
- Work with external law firms, tax advisors, and structuring specialists to refine transaction frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with UK and international regulatory requirements relevant to private credit investments.
- Support negotiations on loan terms, covenant structures, and enforcement rights to protect investor interests.
