The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading on data disclosures and transfers, ensuring regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Drafting and negotiating data protection clauses in commercial agreements.
  • Advising on data protection consents, policies, and compliance frameworks.
  • Providing guidance on data protection considerations in disputes.
  • Managing Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and other data subject rights.
  • Ensuring direct marketing compliance in line with GDPR and PECR.
  • Conducting GDPR compliance audits and delivering training for clients.
  • Handling ICO investigations and regulatory interactions.
  • Advising on personal data breaches and implementing response strategies.
  • Conducting Privacy Impact Assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Overseeing data protection aspects of database sales and purchases.
  • Reviewing and advising on website privacy notices and cookie compliance.

About You

  • A qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with extensive experience in Data Protection law.
  • Strong track record of advising on high-value, complex data protection matters.
  • Established client following or the ability to generate new business.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring junior lawyers.
  • Commercially astute with a strategic mindset to drive practice growth.
