Role – HR Director, Built Environment Business Unit (maternity cover)
Reports to – Vice President HR, EMEAA
Location – UK- Remote
Duration – February-December 2025
Element has an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Director to join our EMEAA team on a maternity cover contract. This is a pivotal role partnering with the Business Unit Vice President and their extended teams to deliver the strategic people plans, build high performing teams, infuse a culture of customer centricity, and drive the employee experience.
The HR Director will lead an international team of experienced HR Business Partners who support our 2,000+ colleagues across the Built Environment business unit and will be responsible for overseeing all HR operations across its multiple geographies and regions (UK, Europe, Middle East and Asia).

Key Role Responsibilities
- Provide strategic business partnerships and coaching to all levels of leadership in the region.
- Identify organisational needs, design and deliver targeted people solutions.
- Provide analysis and insights to drive improvement in key people metrics, including colleague engagement, turnover and top talent retention.
- Lead a team of HR Business Partners, ensuring that high quality, customer-focused support is provided across all global HR operations.
- Create and implement tailored training and career development programs to ensure the growth and retention of top talent.
- Lead the charge on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives across the Business Unit.
- Ensure compliance with international employment laws and stay ahead of regulatory changes in all operating regions.
Key Requirements
- Relevant experience in a HR leadership role, within a fast paced, global/multi-site organisation
- Suitably qualified with either a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, CIPD or equivalent
- A strategic mindset with the ability to drive change and navigate complex organisational dynamics.
- A passion for fostering a positive workplace culture and enhancing employee experience.
- Commercially minded with the ability to leverage data in support of business decision making
