Role Purpose:

Reporting to the COO, you will drive the development and execution of the Company’s long-term corporate and product strategy by:

  • Developing the corporate and product strategic roadmap in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Identifying new product opportunities and using a client-first and process-driven approach to product innovation.
  • Creating, assessing, and managing business opportunities through acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, and partnerships.
  • Manage major operational initiatives and support day-to-day activities of the COO office.

You will achieve this by expertly researching key competitive themes and trends, identifying opportunities and solutions, and preparing/synthesizing recommendations.

A natural “analyst”, the VP of Corporate & Product Strategy will possess a solid understanding of business cases, financial modelling, product development, and project management.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Quarterback the corporate strategic planning process and establish a comprehensive roadmap in collaboration with senior leadership to support the company’s strategic goals.
  • Identify trends in the marketplace and monitor the competitive landscape for investment products.
  • Work alongside the COO & Head of Product Strategy to manage the product strategy and innovation process, develop a business case and apply a score card methodology to screen, evaluate, and rank new product ideas.
  • Ensure the successful design and development of products through engagement with internal stakeholders and clients, including Product Development, Funds Legal, Business Development-Sales, Investment Management, and others.
  • Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, investments, and divestitures.
  • Coordinate due diligence processes, perform financial analysis, and negotiate deal terms.
  • Monitor progress of acquisitions post-integration to ensure ongoing success and report metrics and recommended actions to management.
  • Manage multi-functional teams in the planning, execution,n and delivery of operational initiatives across all areas of the business.
  • Oversee financial analysis, forecasting, and modelling to support decision-making in connection with operational initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders to advance the Company’s strategic and operational goals.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Highly energetic, driven, curious, and engaged, you bring passion and a sense of urgency to your role.
  • Exceptional financial modeling and presentation skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, can structure, break down, and solve complex business problems, and make recommendations based on well-supported research and analysis.
  • Self-directed, can manage your own work and drive projects to completion on tight timelines.
  • Highly collaborative and professional; able to partner with senior leadership / other functions / external partners across a range of disciplines.
  • A track record of achievement in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor\’s degree and MBA qualified from a recognised top University.
  • 7 to 10 years of work experience acquired (ideally) at a top-tier investment bank, consulting firm, internal strategy department, and / or corporate development function for a high-growth organization.
  • Exceptional Modelling skills.
  • Alternatives Investment / Investment Banking experience is preferred.

Languages:

  • Must be fluent in English and display superior writing skills.
  • Proficiency in other languages – preferably French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, or Korean is highly advantageous but not essential.
