The Employee Engagement Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining programs that drive a positive and engaged work environment. This role focuses on driving employee satisfaction, retention, and organizational culture through various initiatives aimed at enhancing employee morale, engagement, and performance. The Employee Engagement Manager works closely with senior management, HR, and employees to create an atmosphere of collaboration, motivation, and inclusivity. This is a hybrid working role working at least 3 days a week from our London Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employee Engagement Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive employee engagement strategy aligned with the company’s goals and culture across the PureGym Group. Create actionable plans based on survey results, feedback, and performance metrics to drive engagement and retention. Administer employee surveys (e.g., engagement surveys, pulse surveys, exit interviews) and analyse results to identify areas for improvement. Manage annual certification programme with Top Employer Institute. Address feedback and concerns from employees, working with leadership to implement necessary changes and improvements.
  • Engagement Program Development and Management: Design and implement engagement programs, initiatives, and events (wellness programs, recognition systems, etc.). Manage and drive forward the Long Services Award. Lead the implementation of employee recognition programs to celebrate achievements, milestones, and contributions. Develop initiatives, in collaboration with the Head of TA & Inclusivity, that promote work-life balance, inclusivity, and diversity within the workplace.
  • Internal Communication: Foster open communication between employees and management to ensure a transparent and inclusive work environment. Work shoulder to shoulder and collaborate with the Employee Communications Manager to ensure initiatives are joint up and aligned with our Comms plan across the Group. Support with managing Employee Comms when the Employee Communications Manager is away from the business. Assist in creating content for internal newsletters, emails, and other communications.
  • Organizational Culture: Champion a positive company culture by promoting the company’s values, mission, and vision. Develop programs to support employee wellness and personal development. Work closely with Learning & Development to develop programs supporting career growth. Facilitate employee forums, focus groups, and town hall meetings to engage employees and gather feedback.
  • Collaboration with HR and Leadership: Work closely with HR to integrate employee engagement practices into the recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management processes. Advise leadership on employee morale, organizational culture, and team dynamics.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention. Continuously assess the effectiveness of engagement initiatives and adjust strategies accordingly. Support with the planning and execution of key events in the PureGym cycle i.e. Gym Manager conference, Leadership Summits, Annual Awards Event.

The Person:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in employee engagement, human resources, organizational development, or a related field. Proven experience in designing and implementing employee engagement programs or initiatives. Strong understanding of employee motivation, satisfaction, and retention techniques.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on data-driven decision-making. High emotional intelligence and the ability to relate to employees at all levels of the organization. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with HRIS/Survey tools. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
