The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 £ per year.

The Marketing Officer will support the Marketing Manager in the planning and delivery of all Filmhouse marketing activities, covering the full breadth of promotional and communication work for the cinema, encompassing public programme, brand profile, education, learning and engagement activity, hospitality, memberships and fundraising.

Full-time Permanent. Some evening and weekend work will be required with this role. TOIL is applicable for weekend work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with the Marketing Manager on weekly marketing delivery, driven by the cinema’s sales and audience development goals.
  • Creating exciting, engaging, cine-literate content for all Filmhouse channels.
  • Participating in regular meetings with Programme and Hospitality colleagues to understand Filmhouse’s offer, promotional priorities and routes to audiences.
  • Daily coordination of Filmhouse’s social media channels.
  • Daily management of the cinema’s website.
  • Drafting and dissemination of Filmhouse email newsletters.
  • Creation of Filmhouse print materials (brochures, posters, flyers) for both in building and city-wide distribution.
  • Coordinating with external services such as design agencies and print providers.
  • Producing reports based on social media, newsletter and CRM data under the direction of the Marketing Manager, which will in turn feed into future planning and strategy.
  • Supporting frontline teams (Cinema and Café-Bar) in delivering exceptional customer service and engagement.
  • Supporting the development of plans for messaging and engaging content, and following content delivery plans.
  • Responding to enquiries on social media platforms.
  • Coordinating with external programme partners on the delivery of marketing collateral for partnership screenings and events and supporting this activity within Filmhouse’s wider communications framework.
  • Delivering marketing activity related to the promotion of Filmhouse’s Membership offer, learning programmes, and fundraising plans.
  • Any other duties as required.

Person specifications:

  • At least two years’ experience in a marketing or communications role, preferably in a cinema or within the wider arts sector.
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms and website management.
  • Some experience working in a multi-departmental organisation.
  • A demonstrable flair for digital marketing and engaging, compelling content creation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Some experience in the design, production and distribution of promotional materials.
  • Strong administrative skills and IT literacy (e.g. Word, Excel).
  • Excellent attention to detail, especially strong proofreading skills.
  • An ability to juggle a high-volume workload, meet deadlines, and balance competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of UK film and/or arts sector.
  • Experience working with a POS system.
  • A strong interest in cinema.
