About the Role
To be employed in this role you must be over the age of 18 and pass a basic level safeguarding check. Our stores operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, providing a wide variety of shift patterns. This role offers flexible working to fit around your lifestyle, with weekend working a requirement.
Asda places a high priority on the safety and security of colleagues and customers. Security colleagues play a vital role in safeguarding our staff, customers and protecting the business. You will be responsible for keeping a constant watch with patrols and checks, including inspecting the inside and outside areas of the store for any signs of damage, breakβins or tampering with cash point machines. Additional duties include:
- Carrying out daily checks on fire doors, clearing obstructions and maintaining fire door records.
- Supporting the manager with random spot checks, acting as a witness and recording details.
- Conducting spot checks on vehicles in the warehouse yard with the driver present.
- Ensuring paperwork and processes for claims, returns, waste management and lost property are completed.
- Providing support in conflicts and heightened situations to ensure safety for colleagues and customers.
