A Japanese accountancy firm is seeking a Tax and Accounting Consultant to join their new office in London. They are looking for an experienced person to work as an expat tax professional in their tax team, taking care of Japanese expatriates’ overall UK personal taxes for their expanding client base.

The ideal candidate will have experience of corporate tax and personal income tax in the UK and be a qualified CTA, CCTA, ACCA, CPA, or any other Accountant or Tax qualifications.

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS:

WORK TYPE: 5 days working at the office (can consider Hybrid working)
VISA SUPPORT: No

WORKING HOURS: 9:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday
SALARY: £50-80k (depending on experience)
START: ASAP
LOCATION: Central London (5 days at the office but can consider hybrid working)Main Responsibilities:
  • Providing Accounting services including bookkeeping, Monthly/quarterly management accounts, settlement report to head office, payroll calculation, VAT refunds, etc.
  • Supporting transfer pricing taxation and the optimal use of double taxation treaties
  • Prepare and review corporate tax returns
  • Helping businesses minimise tax liabilities through effective planning and identifying available credits, deductions, and exemptions
  • Tax Reporting - ensure timely and accurate preparation of tax provisions for financial reporting purposes, in accordance with IFRS or UK GAAP
  • Accurate advice as a tax advisor for expatriates, managers, and sole proprietors
  • Providing advice on personal tax matters, including income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and tax-efficient investment strategies for individuals and families
  • Advising expatriates and internationally mobile individuals on tax implications of moving between jurisdictions, including residency, domicile, and cross-border taxation
Ideal Candidate:
  • CTA, CCTA, ACCA, CPA, or other relevant professional certifications required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax and accounting, ideally with an accounting firm in the UK
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field
  • Knowledge of corporate tax, personal income tax, accounting, and financial reporting
  • Excellent management of multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English (business level)
  • Japanese not essential, but advantageous
