About the role
This is an influential and client-facing position at the intersection of sales and a new class of technology. It requires an individual who thrives on distilling clarity from abstract problems, is tenacious in the face of complexity, and wants to design solutions to real-world problems with the support of exceptional technologists and delivery teams. As a Senior Solutions Engineer, your role will be to understand customer needs and how they map on to the feature set of our Frontier product. You will be responsible for discovering client needs, designing technical solutions which address these, and supporting the sales/delivery teams with compelling and well-scoped proposals. You’ll lead on communicating these solutions to the customer through presentations and demos, and will gather customer feedback to influence future proposals and product roadmaps.
What you’ll be doing
- Driving ARR in new logos by the effective demonstration of Frontier
- Designing the storyboard for product demos, specific to individual customer problems
- Performing product demonstrations in client meetings in a way that communicates the value to the customer
- Producing high-level technical solution designs and scopes for a given customer problem
- Leading customer discovery sessions to narrow down problem statements and scope
- Acting as the technical representative of Frontier in initial customer meetings, demonstrating personal and organisational credibility
- Working with sales, delivery and machine learning/data scientists to ensure effective pitch and delivery of solutions
- Contributing high-quality, persuasive written content to proposals
What we will look for
- Experience working as a data scientist, machine learning or software engineer, combined with delivering projects directly to customers
- Demonstrable ability to think creatively about solutions - particularly in circumstances where there are gaps in data or technology
- Experience designing and selling solutions with a bespoke ML/DS element
- Expertise understanding customer challenges - breaking them down into clear requirements and articulating how customisable technology can meet their needs
- Experience communicating technical concepts to a technical and non-technical audience - ability to read the room and tailor detail accordingly
- Accustomed to providing estimates of the size and scope of a solution; sourcing input from SMEs to inform this
- Engaging, crisp, presentation and demonstration style
- Life Sciences/CPG industry experience would be beneficial, but is not essential
