About the Role: We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer with strong experience in temporary and permanent works design within tunnelling and underground structures. You will play a key role in shaping the design process within a rapidly growing SME that works with Tier 1 contractors and major infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading conceptual and detailed designs for tunnels, shafts, and underground structures
- Reviewing and approving design calculations, reports, and drawings
- Supporting and mentoring junior engineers
- Managing external design consultants and ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations
- Attending client meetings and providing technical guidance
What We're Looking For:
- Engineering Degree / Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in civil engineering design
- Experience in temporary and permanent works for tunnels, shafts, or underground structures
- Familiarity with Eurocodes and CDM Regulations
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng, MICE, MIStructE) preferred or working towards it
- Full UK driving licence
