As one of our Trading Executives, you will play a key part in delivering our trading agenda and drive sustainable growth across Saga’s insurance business. In this fast-paced and varied role, you’ll play a key role in a high-performing trading team, augmenting internal and external data to understand and inform trading solutions to drive all core financial metrics and deliver good customer outcomes in line with Saga values. Reporting to the Trading Manager, you’ll support BAU activity within our Insurance Brokerage business as we strive for a seamless transition in our new Ageas partnership. At Saga, we come together with a purpose so that we can collaborate with each other; as part of our Trading team, you would typically come together once a month in London.

Role Responsibility

  • Progressing the trading mission to profitably grow our trading performance through continuous insight and action; delivering on current year value and the 5 year plan.
  • Working with Marketing, Pricing, Finance, Product, Panel, Operations and other key stakeholders to support the trading agenda through effective collaboration across the whole insurance product range (core and add-ons).
  • Preparing for and presenting in weekly trading sessions and monitoring performance vs. expectation to inform decision making.
  • Identifying risks and mitigations/opportunities to deliver business value.
  • Supporting simple value assessments to support prioritisation and sizing of opportunities.
  • Facilitating conversations with stakeholders that balance achieving good customer outcomes with delivering commercial results in line with financial plans.
  • Approaching work with curiosity, seeking opportunities to learn and develop your skills and those of others in the team.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in UK Personal Lines Insurance and skilled at interpreting and triangulating multiple data sources.
  • Knowledge or experience of UK personal lines insurance (Motor, Home, PMI or Travel) desirable.
  • Experience of working across multiple teams ideal but not essential.
  • Ability to identify key trends.
  • Ability to communicate trends simply, and consider implementable solutions.
  • Proficient user of MS packages, including PowerPoint, Word & Excel.
  • Experience of using visualisation tools such as Tableau.
