The predicted salary is between 42000 - 84000 £ per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring clients’ VAT affairs comply with statutory time limits, and managing compliance work efficiently, profitably and in accordance with the firm’s tax manual.
  • Identifying and advising on VAT planning opportunities and undertaking specialist technical assignments as required.
  • Responding to clients’ correspondence as a matter of priority, and keeping the client and partner fully informed of the current status of the VAT work.
  • Acting as the principal point of contact to clients on VAT queries and maintaining excellent client service always.
  • Ensuring appropriate liaison takes place with other departments.
  • Monitoring work in progress reports, to ensure the profitable recoverability of work done and to bill clients on a timely basis.
  • Developing an advanced level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading and courses and an awareness of the firm’s services, brochures and publications.
  • Identifying, interviewing and converting prospective clients and assisting other departments in the research and preparation of formal proposals for new work.
  • Taking an active involvement in prospective client seminars and effectively following up contacts made.
  • Assisting in review and quality control procedures and the administration of the department where required.
  • Attending staff meetings and training as required.
  • Carrying out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the role and its grading, as requested by the line manager or Head of Department.

About the ideal candidate:

This role will suit someone who is looking for an environment where they will have opportunity to accelerate their knowledge and skills in a creative, entrepreneurial and supportive team, working with lots of fantastic clients along the way. You will have solid indirect tax experience and effective team leadership skills, with an interest in and/or aptitude for business development. Opportunities for progression are open for the right candidate with excellent support for training and development needs.

Preferably CTA / ATII qualified or equivalent, ideally with an accounting qualification such as ACA or ACCA. Proven experience in client handling and project management. Proven tax experience in producing high quality work within budget.
