Role Overview:
As a Personal Tax Accountant, you will manage a diverse personal tax portfolio. You will be responsible for preparing tax returns, providing tax planning advice, and offering high-level advisory services to your clients. In addition, you will oversee the work of junior staff, mentoring them and supporting their development. You’ll also have the opportunity to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring they receive the best possible service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, including high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, and trusts.
- Preparing personal tax returns, tax computations, and providing advice on personal tax planning and compliance.
- Identifying tax-saving opportunities and advising clients on how to optimise their tax position.
- Reviewing and mentoring junior staff, providing support and technical guidance.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring excellent client service and satisfaction.
- Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and applying this knowledge to client work.
- Supporting the Partner team in business development and providing high-level advisory services.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
- You will be CTA/ACA/ACCA qualified / part-qualified (or equivalent) with significant experience in personal tax within an accountancy practice.
- Strong technical knowledge of personal tax compliance and advisory. Additionally, experience in income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and trusts would be a bonus.
- Experience managing a portfolio of personal tax clients and the ability to build long-term client relationships.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills, with experience mentoring junior staff.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive and able to work independently while being a team player.
