Gardener – Historic Estate A rare opportunity to join the Gardens Team of a prestigious historic estate in Cambridge. We are seeking a skilled and passionate Gardener to support the Head Gardener in maintaining and enhancing the grounds to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities: * Garden maintenance: lawns, hedges, pruning, planting, and greenhouse work * Use of a range of machinery and hand tools (training provided) * Supporting new planting schemes and landscape developments * Ensuring safe working practices (including working at height and with machinery) * Communicating effectively with the team and wider estate staff Requirements: * Level 2 horticultural qualification or equivalent experience * Full UK driving licence * Sound plant knowledge and passion for horticulture * Awareness of Health & Safety, especially in public-facing gardens * Team player with ability to work independently * Physically fit and happy to work outdoors in all weather Desirable: * Experience in large or public gardens * PA1/PA6 spraying licence * Propagation skills and broad plant knowledge * Basic IT skills * Environmentally responsible gardening approach Details: * 37 hours/week, Monday to Friday (part-time considered) * Occasional out-of-hours work (e.g. watering rota) * Reporting to: Head Gardener This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the care and development of a historic garden with year-round interest and sustainability at its core
