About The Role

  • Leading the electrical development and documentation of design processes for products designed within the company.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and successful delivery of product design projects, for the product definition and design phases, concessions, and production permits.
  • Design, prototype, assess, and review electrical components and assemblies.
  • Provide support in product acceptance, testing, and validation activities.
  • Prepare and participate in requirements and design review meetings.
  • Undertake analysis of electrical components, assemblies, and systems, as well as manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Oversee and participate in prototyping activities.
  • Support design, manufacturing, and shop floor activity when required.
  • Provide technical support for the company's product range across manufacturing, development, and procurement.
  • Provide engineering support for component selection during the design and development phase, including the design and development of tests to verify performance.
  • Provide technical assistance to both external and internal customers, joining company representatives at customer sites as required.
  • Support the cross-functional team in problem-solving and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain a high level of technical knowledge coupled with ongoing professional development.

About You

  • Degree educated or equivalent in Engineering, with experience working in the heavy equipment industry of 4+ years.
  • Experience in design of 12/24Vdc control systems including CAN bus, Modbus etc. networks.
  • Experience in electrical control panel design e.g. Zuken E3 Series desired.
  • Knowledge of required standards EN60204, ISO12100 etc.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machine malfunction.
  • Development of PLC Software (ideally in IQAN & CoDeSys 3.5).
  • Knowledge & understanding of hydraulic systems – a bonus.
  • Independent and self-motivated individual.
  • Project management and analytical skills.
  • Presentation and interpersonal skills, fluent English both written and spoken.
  • Travel will be required, national and international.
