Our client is a leading construction industry manufacturer that values a progressive mindset, ambition, and the drive to be part of an expanding company. They have seen incredible growth and want to continue their momentum with an experienced Research and Development Engineer to improve and newly develop their products.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Research and develop new and existing products to take to market
- The four pillars of this role include: Product Strategy & Planning, Research, Product Management, Cross-functional Collaboration
- Overseeing the whole process from Research, concept, specification, prototyping, and final product manufacturing
- Improve their current product lines and help develop new products
- Market research and competitive analysis to stay ahead of the competition and identify new market opportunities
- Project Management responsibilities - liaising with stakeholders and customers, and setting and adhering to time frames
- Liaise with design, marketing, and sales teams to ensure completion of tasks
- Collaborate with their other R&D Engineer
- Occasionally get hands-on with the machinery and understand the machinery limitations to assist with concepts
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Mechanical/Civil Engineer, who has been part of an R&D team developing products for the construction industry
- Previous experience in an R&D role, minimum 2 years
- Hands-on Engineering understanding with sheet metals
- High IQ - Problem solver
- Organised person - Project Management capabilities
