Job title: Lapping Machine Operator Location: Slough Salary: £24,900 – £25,900 Hours: Monday to Thursday – 08:30 – 17:00 / Friday – 8:30 – 16:30 (+ Overtime available, with competitive rates) Why This Role? Full training provided – no prior lapping experience needed (although it is beneficial) Work with a range of high-precision machinery, including lapping plates, polishing plates, laser machines, grit blasting, and spin rigs Clear skill progression within the departmentDay To Day: Lapping and polishing components to achieve precise flatness and surface finish Hand lapping using specialised tools Masking and grooving Mating Rings using PC-operated masking machines and grit blasting Operating laser machines to create spiral grooves Inspecting parts using optical flats and interferometers Conducting spin testing of grooved Mating RingRole Requirements: A background in mechanical work – machining, engineering, or similar hands-on roles A keen eye for detail and precision Ability to use a PC for data entry and machine operation Strong teamwork and communication skillsApply today to find out more
