This is an exciting opportunity for a Security Cleared (SC) Front End Developer to provide critical front end development services to a high profile Defence customer. The successful candidate will play a key role in the implementation and maintenance of scalable solutions central to the operation of a UK front line security force.
Responsibilities:
- Designing, developing, and testing UI for mobile and web applications.
- Building reusable code and libraries for future use.
- Accurately translating user and business needs into functional frontend code.
- Working within cross-functional agile teams to deliver live services.
- Maintaining clean and organised Git repositories.
- Implementing service side rendering (SSR) using Next.js.
- Optimising frontend performance for speed and efficiency.
- Writing comprehensive automated tests (unit, integration and end-to-end) to ensure quality and prevent regressions.
Required Skills:
- Excellent frontend development experience: TypeScript, React and Vanilla CSS.
- Strong User Interface Design skills and web development experience.
- Experience with REST APIs.
- Experience with testing frameworks like Jest and Cypress (Integration testing).
- Comfortable with Docker, Jenkins, DevOps, etc.
- Experience working in the Ministry of Defence (MOD) or similar secure environments.
- Proven experience of working in an agile team, building Digital Services for Government clients (GDS).
- Familiarity using Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
- Excellent consulting/stakeholder engagement skills.
- Willingness to participate in work-shopping/requirement gathering/definition side of the engagement.

- Rate offered: Up to £540 per day.

- Duration: 12 month initial sign up, significant opportunity for extension.
- Travel: Remote with 2 days onsite per week (Portsmouth).
