Here at The Recruitment Co we are currently recruiting a Procurement/Buyer to work for a company based in Blackwood. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Procurement / Buyer will play an integral part of the team supporting on key functions within the department including Procurement, Vendor management, MRP scheduling, Quality Assurance, New Product Development, driving improvement initiatives while maintaining excellent customer service levels and some administrative duties. Using strong commercial and analytical skills the role will create value for the business through effective negotiation of price, contract and service level agreements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive and flexible approach to the buying role and have strong team values. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate a proven track record of achieving cost down benefit to the business.
Required Experience:
- Excellent internal and external customer relationship and interpersonal skills
- Effective written and oral communication skills

- Highly numerate and analytical, Ability to analyse and interpret data
- Commercially minded, Attention to detail
- Strong organisation and time management skills

- Able to deliver at a consistently high level in a demanding, commercial environment
- Educated to degree level - CIPS preferably (or working towards)
- Supply chain or Procurement experience
- IT literate with strong spreadsheet knowledge
- Experience working with a MRP/ERP and SAP system
- Experience working in a legislative environment and familiar working with procedures/systems
