What you will be doing
As the applications chemist, You’ll be a vital link between product development, product marketing and the customer. You’ll be responsible for generating data used in marketing material and feeding back essential market developments and opportunities to help improve and develop new versions of products. Detailed responsibilities will include:-

Developing and executing application work plans to showcase products for marketing collateral and sales support.

Maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation.

Working alongside the product development team to evaluate new product developments and generate proof statements for new product introductions.

Liaising with the market development team to assess and demonstrate the application of products to new market areas.

Writing various reports and application documentation following method development work from concise "Application Briefing Notes" to fully referenced papers for peer-reviewed journals.

Additional responsibilities will follow after training and in line with experience gained.

A degree or above in chemistry, ideally analytical chemistry or a closely related subject.

A solid theoretical understanding of chromatography, with hands-on experience in one or more of the following (in order of preference): GC-MS, GC, or HPLC.

Ideally, mass spectrometry experience

The desire to spend the majority of the working week in the laboratory, gaining knowledge of instruments and method development.
