Due to extensive growth and acquisitions, Fusion Consulting Group are looking to recruit an experienced Commercial Solicitor to lead the legal division of the group. The group has several subsidiaries ranging from Tax, Accounting, Legal, Financial Services and Executive Recruitment. Our mission is to disrupt the disjointed Professional Services space. This is a role to develop our legal practice, and not an in-house role. Job Summary Reporting to the Directors, the Head of Law will be a member of the senior management team and will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for the legal firm, with a focus on maintaining and improving the firm’s financial performance, expanding its client base, managing the firm’s staff, and ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. Building upon the firm’s existing corporate and commercial practice, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a keen ability to win new business, grow and manage the team, and work towards the firm becoming fully SRA regulated. The successful candidate will have a broad grasp of the law, being able to advise SME’s and entrepreneurs on commercial work, working with others in the team who specialise in more Corporate & M&A work. Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategies to achieve the firm’s financial goals and objectives, while maintaining high levels of client satisfaction and quality service delivery. Lead and manage the firm’s employees, including recruitment, training, and performance management. Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, while identifying opportunities for business growth and expansion. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other professional service providers. Responsible for delivering a reasonable level of personal fee income as well overall growth of fee income year on year. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and professional ethics. Oversee the firm’s budgeting, financial reporting, and cash flow management activities. Oversee the reporting, metrics and time management of divisions. Capacity planning and forecasting. Ensure the firm’s technology systems and infrastructure are up to date and effective. Participate in the development of new services and products to meet evolving client needs. Participate in the development and execution of marketing and business development plans. Stay current with developments in the industry and identify opportunities for the firm to remain competitive. Be a thought leader within the industry. Identify and lead on acquisition opportunities and fully integrate new staff, clients and systems. Qualifications: SRA qualification with at least five years post qualification experience. Minimum of five years’ experience in a senior management role in a law firm. Fully executed Practicing Certificate. Proven track record of managing successful teams and delivering results. Strong financial acumen and understanding of commercial law. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Ability to work effectively with clients, employees, and other stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
