About The Role
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our multi-disciplinary medical team at our CQC "Good" rated Hospital in Shepton Mallet. Your expertise in non-Obstetric Gynaecology will be highly valued as a key member of our team. As a Consultant at Practice Plus Group, you will have access to excellent facilities within a well-structured, yet relaxed environment. We provide high-quality day case and inpatient treatments across a wide range of specialties, ensuring exceptional clinical care for all patients.
Reporting to the Medical Director, you will be part of a multi-professional team and carry out various non-Obstetric Gynaecological procedures. You will treat both NHS and private patients referred to the hospital, adhering to protocols and working practices. This includes providing in-patient and out-patient care for patients with common gynaecological concerns such as menstrual disorders and urogynaecological issues. As a UK registered medical professional listed on the Specialist GMC register, we expect your commitment to high standards of care to match ours.
What you’ll be doing
Everything we do is focused on providing a high standard of safe and effective patient care. Our facilities are modern, employing the latest technology with friendly and professional staff. We have strong control processes to ensure we maintain high standards of hygiene and above all, we’re passionate about giving our patients the best possible care and helping them feel better, faster.
Procedures include:
- Minor/intermediate procedures of the vagina, cervix, uterus, and fallopian tubes such as hysteroscopy, endometrial sampling, endometrial ablations, laparoscopy, tubal sterilizations, insertion/removal of MIRENAs etc.
- Major procedures to include Vaginal Hysterectomy, Colporrhaphy, abdominal hysterectomy, fascial sling etc.
- Skills in the management of endometriosis would be an advantage.
- Skills to be able to do total laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy, laparoscopic excision of endometriosis and hysteroscopic resection of fibroids would be an advantage.
What we’ll look for in you:
- UK registerable Medical Degree
- Strong background in laparoscopic surgery is essential
- MRCOG or appropriate specialist qualification
- Relevant CCT or equivalent
- Past record of academic achievement
- Full and Specialist GMC Registration in relevant speciality
