About Our Client
The business serves SME clients and is the only direct sales force in its sector, setting it apart from traditional banks and challenger institutions.
This dynamic company has ambitious plans to grow its functions out of Liverpool to meet the demands of the plans for a large scale up in 2025.
Job Description
As Internal Sales Manager , you will play a pivotal role in managing, recruiting, and developing a high-performing telesales team of 8 individuals, with the ambition to grow significantly next year to 50+.
This is not a traditional call centre environment – your focus will be on developing a team of sales professionals who generate high-quality leads to support Area Sales Managers in securing deals. You will lead by example, fostering a culture where the outcome of a well-balanced, targeted call is valued over rigid KPI-driven metrics.
You will also have the opportunity to grow the team, create innovative recruitment and training strategies, and contribute to the wider business development strategy, helping the organisation achieve its ambitious goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop an inside sales team, ensuring each member has the skills and motivation to succeed.
- Recruitment & Training: Drive the recruitment of dynamic and hungry individuals, focusing on their long-term development within the company.
- Sales Process Optimisation: Oversee lead generation activities, ensuring high-quality leads are fed to Area Sales Managers.
- Performance Management: Foster a culture that values quality and transparency, focusing on positive sales outcomes over purely quantitative metrics.
- Strategic Growth: Contribute to the business’s growth objectives by developing the internal sales function to support the expansion of the field sales team.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales Director and senior management to align inside sales activities with broader business objectives.
The Successful Applicant
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Background: Proven experience in telesales management, ideally within financial services, banking, or asset finance.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrable success in recruiting, training, and developing high-performing teams.
- Sales-Driven: Passionate about the sales process, with a people-focused approach that values quality over quantity.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of SME markets and B2B sales.
- Dynamic & Ambitious: Ready to take ownership of the role and drive team and organisational growth.
Customer-Centric: Believes in providing a service-led offering and values transparency over being the cheapest option in the market.
What’s on Offer
This role offers significant scope for progression, with opportunities to move into larger management roles or transition to field-based sales positions. The Liverpool operation is set to expand rapidly, offering exciting growth prospects for the right candidate.
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 depending on training needs and experience (this client is committed to developing some areas of the skills needed for the role).
