A Change Communications lead is responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that support organisational change initiatives. Where periods of organisational change can be disruptive and unsettling, the Change Communications lead's role is there to keep all key stakeholders informed, engaged and aligned with the new direction, ensuring a smooth and successful transition.
Reporting Line
The Change Communications Lead will report to the Head of Change but will have close engagement with Head of Customer Engagement & Marketing and Head of HR to ensure messaging is consistent across all communications and is in line with any HR requirements.
Contracted Hours
This role is offered initially on a part time basis of 21 hours per week, aligned to the requirements of the Change Programme.
Day-to-Day Duties:
- Collaborating with the Head of Change and project leads to understand the impact of the change projects and developing and implementing communications strategies to mitigate resistance and encourage adoption.
- Tailoring strategies to different audiences within the organisation, translating complex ideas into clear and impactful messages.
- Ensuring consistent use of organisational tone of voice that is reflective of the culture and values.
- Creating compelling content materials to deliver communications in support of the change initiatives.
- Tracking and measuring the effectiveness of the communications efforts and incorporating feedback from stakeholders to amend strategies as required.
- Working closely with other departments to ensure alignment and coordination of communications efforts across the organisation.
- Engaging with key stakeholders and facilitating communications between leadership and employees.
- Managing internal intranet content, creating a single point of reference for all stakeholders in relation to Change Programme.
- Working with internal communication teams to ensure that external change messaging is aligned to internal communications.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in developing and implementing successful communications strategies for organisational change.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Emotional intelligence and able to lead with empathy.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Proficient in using a wide variety of communications tools and platforms.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of an organisation.
- Adaptability and flexibility in a changing environment.
- Creative thinking with a strategic mindset.
What you get in return
You will be offered an initial 6 month contract, working 21 hours per week and paid an hourly rate of 21.55 per hour. This will be paid to you weekly via timesheets. There is possibility that this role might be extended but this will become clear as the project progresses.
