Our employment team is expanding and we are seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join the team. We are flexible on location and this role can be based out of our Manchester, Birmingham or Nottingham office. You will provide expert advice and assistance on a wide range of employment matters to our diverse client base. This role offers the opportunity to handle both contentious and non-contentious issues, making it ideal for those who thrive in a varied and challenging legal environment.

About the Role:

  • Represent clients in employment tribunals, including Directions Hearings and Preliminary Hearings.
  • Prepare for employment tribunal cases, including drafting claims, responses, discrimination questionnaires, interlocutory applications, witness statements, and skeleton arguments.
  • Provide corporate support, such as advising on TUPE during transactions, drafting due diligence reports, and advising on indemnities and warranties.
  • Draft and advise on employment contracts, policies, and procedures.
  • Offer general advice on disciplinary investigations, grievance procedures, redundancy programs, and rights related to flexible working, maternity, and paternity.
  • Contribute to the marketing and non-fee-earning projects of the department, including seminar presentations, training program drafting, updating precedents, and contributing to Employment Bulletins.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Proficient IT and keyboard skills, with familiarity in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
  • Strong research skills using both online and library resources.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of legal developments, reviewing law reports and journals regularly.
