Specialist Nanny / PA in St. Albans. A fantastic full-time opportunity available for a dedicated, organised and professional Specialist Nanny / PA to support a fabulous young lady with a Visual Impairment. Salary GBP39,600.00 + Gross per Annum.

Essential: Experienced Nanny and confident moving into a PA role working within a busy family home. This role is open to female applicants only. Nonsmoker / Vaper.
Desirable: Nanny with experience working with a Visually Impaired teen / young person, and an understanding of Braille.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Term-time: Monday to Friday: Split shift, 7.00am 9.00am, then 2.30pm 8.00pm. School Holidays: 4 weekdays 8.00am 5.00pm. Availability to work one day every other weekend for 5 hours to assist Zara with activities.
Family Pets: Two family dogs.
About this client/child: Zara is the oldest of 3 children, she is 12 years old and attends a local mainstream high school; she is a bright young lady, who enjoys school and learning, and is doing very well academically. Zara is a very active girl who loves gymnastics, swimming and all things arts and crafts. Zara is registered blind and requires practical support and guidance in day-to-day life; she needs a Specialist Nanny / PA to enable and promote her independence. Zara can experience high levels of anxiety, especially if she is struggling to complete a task.
Overview of role: The main aspect of this role is supporting Zara to access the world around her and participate in all activities. The Specialist Nanny / PA will be a confident sighted guide, able to use computer technology to help support Zara with her schoolwork. You’ll support Zara to safely use social media to keep up with her peers. Facilitate her in all aspects of her day to day and provide practical support whilst she participates in gymnastics and swimming. The Specialist Nanny / PA will be a point of contact with Zara’s school, ensuring she has the support required to access learning. Zara does not let her Visual Impairment hold her back and needs a Specialist Nanny / PA with the same outlook; someone who sets the bar high in terms of expectations. The typical Nanny duties such as school runs, preparing meals for the children and light household duties are all included. Full training and support provided by Zara’s case management team to equip you with the skills to support a young person with a VI. When the children are at school, that time of the day is your own. Additional hours worked will be paid at the quoted rates above.
