Our client is a group of hotels. They are currently seeking a skilled Revenue Accountant to manage the financial records of their hotels with regards to revenue and income. This includes tracking and analysing financial data, preparing financial reports, and ensuring that the hotels are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, ensuring accuracy of the financial information and providing advice and guidance on how to maximize its revenue. This is a hybrid role.
Responsibilities:
- Record and report revenue transactions in compliance with accounting principles and regulations
- Identify and analyse revenue-related issues and recommend solutions
- Prepare and maintain revenue schedules and reports
- Review and analyse revenue data for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure that revenue is recognised in accordance with the company’s revenue recognition policy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
- Continuously update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organisations
- Reconcile trade receivables aging
- Daily transfer of revenue from PMS into Netsuite on daily basis working closely with Finance Assistants
- Full ownership of P&L from revenue perspective
- Attend P&L reviews with hotels team and GMs
- Use segment analysis to provide insight and projections, as well as harnessing analytics software e.g. PMS such as Infor
Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Demonstrable experience of building complex reports in Excel
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or studying towards recognised accounting qualification with at least five years experience
- Experience of working with large data sets
- Experience of developing and completing analysis projects
- Experience presenting analysis and driving actions from insights
- Knowledge of using Netsuite or Fairmas or any relevant reporting tool
- Attention to detail, taking ownership for accuracy of output
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise work effectively
- Excellent communication skills and organised, with attention to detail
- Good understanding of hospitality commercial analysis and statistics
- Exposure to Hospitality industry will be beneficial
- Experience of creating, recording, maintaining controls and governance eg P2P (procure to pay), R2R (record to report) and O2C (order to cash)
