Vantage CE Academies Trust is looking to recruit several Governors to join our friendly Local Advisory Boards. Our governors come from a range of different backgrounds, skills and experience but all share a common interest of wanting the best possible education for the children in our schools. Governors are essential for the effectiveness and success of our schools and it is an extremely rewarding and fulfilling role.

We are a North West-based Trust, founded in 2012, which recognises and supports the individual ethos of non-faith schools; is currently made up of six Church of England schools and four community schools. The Trust believes in aspiration, ambition and no excuses, seeking to overcome barriers and never accepting mediocrity. We are committed to a culture where everybody belongs. Our intent is to ensure every child who comes through the door has an amazing experience and leaves us with the skills, knowledge and resourcefulness to embark on the next stage in their learning journey.

We would be delighted to hear from anyone who:

  • Is interested in children’s education and the performance of the school
  • Is community spirited and would like to represent the community
  • Has spare time and the energy for the role
  • Is able to work well as part of a team
  • Has an enquiring mind and the confidence to ask questions and debate issues that affect the school
  • Can consider matters objectively and make informed judgements
  • Can help to set and review the school’s strategic direction and agree targets for improvement
  • Can hold the Principal and school leaders to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
  • Can oversee the financial performance of the school and ensure public money is well spent

If you share our vision of “believe in aspiration, ambition and no excuses”, we’d love to hear from you. To find out more and register your interest for the role, please contact our Governance Professional.

The closing date for application is 30/04/25 at 9.00am. However, the Trust reserves the right to close early and therefore encourages early applications. Vantage CE Academies Trust is committed to the safeguarding of children and young people. An enhanced disclosure from the DBS will be required for all roles. All candidates will also be subject to an online search for information about you as part of our due diligence and commitment to safeguarding.
