About the role

You will be working in a leading UK Port which deals with the handling of materials in bulk commodities. Officers are responsible for providing safety and security to both staff and visitors alike, ensuring no unauthorised personnel enter the location, and monitoring the various sections of the port to ensure the smooth running of the site. This role is relief based across the whole port, covering as both static security and a mobile port officer, where you will be required to patrol the terminal, as well as pick up the relevant gatehouse duties.

Your main responsibilities may include:

  • Patrolling the site premises.
  • Investigating disturbances, as well as monitoring the entry and exit points of the site.
  • Confidently calling for help in emergency situations.
  • Full manual UK Driver's license required.
  • Effectively working the barriers and completing pass checks as well as building positive relations with visitors and staff.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following:

  • SIA License.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • 5-year checkable work/career history.
  • Experience in a similar role would be an advantage.
  • Physically fit to undertake given tasks.
  • Possess the ability to work under pressure.
