OLG Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Critical Spares Engineer/Coordinator to support the Maintenance and Reliability team for a client based in Hull. This is a contract position for a minimum of 12 months working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.

The role of the Critical Spares Engineer/Coordinator is to assist the Maintenance and Reliability team by identifying the critical engineering spares required for each plant area and fulfilling the process of identification through to a stored stock item. The role will require progress to be documented and reported on a weekly basis.

Key Tasks involved:

  • Working with the Engineering teams on new installations to identify critical spares requirements.
  • Understanding plant P&IDs and identifying plant equipment with an understanding of key engineering components and failure modes.
  • On plant inspection of equipment for identification of assets.
  • Accessing archived information for assets identified as critical for the purpose of specifying the same or equivalent as a spare.
  • Liaising with vendors to obtain quotations for component parts and manufacturer information.
  • Liaising with our maintenance and reliability team including stores and operational team to understand equipment failure information and business impact.
  • Submitting new material creation requests and change requests as identified and monitoring the status of requests until completion and item held on stock as a spare.

Knowledge and experience:

  • Engineering or manufacturing experience on process plants with knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical and Instrument equipment and spares inventory management.
  • Good working knowledge of the MRO functionality in SAP, specifically material masters and Bill of Material management.
  • Experience in Sphera would be advantageous.
  • Good IT and communication skills, confident in MS Excel would be beneficial.
  • Demonstrate a good attention to detail and is self-sufficient in their approach to work.
