We are looking to hire a Principal Process Engineer in our Croydon and Exeter offices.
Main Purpose of the Job
Reporting to the Process, M&E Director you will join an established team of Process, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers. You will be expected to lead multidisciplinary design schemes, assist with delivery of projects within the Water and Waste sectors as well as providing line management to a group of highly motivated, developing engineers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Act in the capacity of Lead Process Engineer on both single and multi-disciplinary projects.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, ensuring the application of best practices and innovative solutions.
- Undertake site and process surveys of existing water industry infrastructure.
- Develop and review process designs, specifications, and documentation.
- Undertake checks and reviews of process designs prepared by others.
- Effectively manage project stakeholders (clients, contractors and other design disciplines etc).
- Implement the project requirements to fully meet the client specification in accordance with relevant standards.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with the other Pell Frischmann discipline leads on projects.
Essential Experience
- A considerable level of experience in Process Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, technologies, and regulatory standards.
- Experience of outline and detailed process design aspects of Water and Waste Sector.
- A good understanding of all relevant standards and Codes of Practice and Health and Safety Legislation relevant to the Water and Waste sector.
- Experience in using current design methods.
- Be a proactive team player with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Preferred Experience
- Experience of ATEX/DSEAR.
- Experience with HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) analysis and implementation.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Chartered Chemical Engineer: CEng (or working towards membership).
Preferred Qualifications
- CAD/BIM applications.
- Full UK driving license.
