Contract Software Engineer – Cloud Payments Platform | Python & GCP | London (Hybrid) Company: Infrastructure for High-Volume B2B Payments An API-first FinTech helping B2B platforms move money at scale. Hiring a Contract Software Engineer to work on new feature delivery across our transaction pipeline and enhance our cloud-native infrastructure. Role details: Tech Stack: Python, FastAPI, Kubernetes, GCP (Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL) Build and maintain payment APIs and processing microservices Collaborate with DevOps and Product on high-availability systems 6-month initial contract with long-term roadmap You bring: Proven experience with Python and distributed systems Deep familiarity with GCP or similar cloud platforms Background in FinTech or payment systems (ideal but not essential) Strong grasp of containerisation and event-driven architecture Hybrid – 1–2 days/week in London £550–£650/day Outside IR35
